All We Are Saying is Bill Frisell's third album for Savoy in 13 months. Since August of 2010, the guitarist has released Beautiful Dreamers, Sign of Life, and now this one. In addition, he collaborated on the duet recording Lagrimas Mexicanas with Brazilian guitarist Vinicius Cantuaria on Naive Jazz, released earlier this year. All We Are Saying is a full-length offering of Frisell's interpretations of John Lennon's music.
MINDLESS BEHAVIOR “#1 Girl” (Streamline/Conjunction/ Interscope) Getting a hold of the rising stars in Mindless Behavior isn’t as much of a problem as it might seem. “Dang, we text a lot,” comes the exhale at the beginning of the group’s bubbly single “My Girl,” one of several songs in which the likelihood of connecting with a romantic interest goes up in direct proportion to her commitment to technology. When you say ‘yo,’ then I say ‘hey love’ You hit me with a sad face — what I do? I hit you with a question mark You send me back a J-slash-K, said ‘I’m just playing with you’ A black boy band in the vein of New Edition and B2K, Mindless Behavior is a foursome — Roc Royal (favorite movie: “Big”), Ray Ray (favorite color: purple), Princeton (favorite food: chili cheese fries), Prodigy (signature accessory: teddy bear chain).
