There’s a wonderful innocence that runs through the 12 songs of this second full-length by The Wharves. Partly that’s due to the trio’s clear devotion to 60s pop sonics and 70s folk, which, when blended together, creates an ineffable timelessness that’s of the past, but also of some kind of ghostly future. Take, for instance, the sweet vibes of Old Friend or the shimmering, summery nature of Lived Or Died; both recall the endless summers of childhood with incisive accuracy.
