Album Review: Chain Gang Of Love by The Raveonettes

On paper it must have looked good. Throw together some modish post-punk cool, a touch of Suicide lite, a sprinkling of the Shangri-Las at their most anodyne, surf rock and an unfeasibly good-looking Danish duo - and, surely, hitsville beckons. If this recipe sounds familiar, it's because the Raveonettes' full-length debut (following last year's Whip It On mini-album) is a very pale photocopy of the Jesus and Mary Chain's scuzzy classicism.
