In 1999, when they may well have been the world's biggest band, Radiohead released a documentary. Meeting People Is Easy featured the Oxford quintet touring the globe in high dudgeon. Whenever an interviewer made the far-from-contentious suggestion that the band's music was depressing, singer Thom Yorke reacted like a recalcitrant 14-year-old who had been asked to clear the table.
