Although this is her debut album, 26-year-old Rachael Yamagata is already a seasoned performer, having supported the likes of Liz Phair and Damien Rice, and opened for David Gray in Madison Square Garden. Touted as a turbo-Norah Jones with hang-ups and an attitude, Yamagata writes skilful, musicianly songs that are frequently racked with angst and indecision. In I Want You, she can't get the guy she loves.
