Album Review: Rise of the Lion by Miss May I

"It’s difficult to escape the nagging feeling that 'Rise Of The Lion' is the sound of a great band spreading themselves far too thinly." Miss May I aren’t just a metalcore band these days. They’re now a thrash band and a straight-up metal band too, often all at the same time. Proficient enough in everything as they are, their lack of focus means highlights like ‘Gone’ – which is the best song Bullet For My Valentine never wrote – are lost in a disorienting mess of solos, riffs and everything else they’ve thrown in for good measure.
