"This record could slot into any punk rock fan’s record collection in the last 15 years and get worn out" Following the marvellous ‘Avalanche United’ in ’11, IATA’s third album sounds like a representation of their craft mastered. They’ve perfected the things that make them great; in particular, the soaring choruses on songs like ‘The Shape I’m In’ and ‘177’ are supplemented with dynamics, pace and musicianship. Though their lyrics aren’t necessarily always positive, their effect is inspiring and consistently catchy, thanks to expert deployment of gang vocals, simple hooks and instantly relatable themes of love, loss and unity.
