Even in the dryness of this last summer, the hedgerows grow verdant around this corner of Derbyshire, with splashes of grey coming from the stone of the cottages not the hue of the sky. Dropping away with a stark suddenness are cliffs among the trees - the rock faces shaped by weather and time into patterns that become both the hostility of something bigger than us, and the familiarity of where we belong. This place can be felt throughout the latest album from instrumental three-piece Haiku Salut.

Track four of this third album from Derbyshire's Haiku Salut, "The More and Moreness," features a rhythm track worthy of New Order in all its 1983 glory. It is one of those electronic masterworks we're unlikely to hear in a club set, but should it ever be presented to the right crowd in the right space on the right night, it will most certainly turn that mutha out.   While most of this fine album is more downtempo, it's difficult not to get excited about what multi-instrumentalists Gemma Barkerwood, Sophie Barkerwood and Louise Croft have ….

Opinion: Excellent

In nature, Autumn is a time of death but also rebirth. It's a time of reflection of the self, and a time of focus. The hustle and bustle of the warmer months is dying down, allowing for more time to focus on change; change of anything that is keeping you stuck in the uncomfort of now. Of course, change is important.
