After 14 years and 7 studio albums, “over the top” doesn’t even begin to describe Electric Six. Despite an ever-rotating lineup, Dick Valentine and company have consistently put out some of the most uninhibited, bombastic, and downright fun dance-rock to get a dancefloor moving, and Zodiac is no exception. A change of pace from the amps-to-11 rock fest that was KILL, Zodiac is a more nocturnal affair, with less focus on intensity and more dance grooves.

If this party-rock thing ever peters out for Electric Six, Dick Valentine should give motivational seminars. Businesses, public schools, whoever can afford him. He’s got the booming voice for it, of course, and he knows how to deliver memorable catchphrases like, “The sun ain’t the real reason vampirrrres DIE!!!!”. (Not that he could use that one, per se; he’d adapt.) Picture it: A few hundred office drones crammed into a Hilton ballroom for the sole purpose of hearing Mr.
