Album Review: Grown Backwards by David Byrne

It must be fun being David Byrne. Since dissolving Talking Heads in the late 1980s, he has gone wherever his curiosity has taken him. He's explored world music; he's produced art books the size of paving stones; he's even recorded an Ibiza anthem with X-Press 2, Lazy, a new version of which features here. Grown Backwards is one of his most rewarding experiments yet, an exploration of songwriting over decades and even centuries, in a similar spirit to Rufus Wainwright (who guests here) or Stephin Merritt.
