Album Review: Heat by Colder

Since its appearance in 2003 Colder's dour rhythmic music has been heard in some appropriate places. Their best known song, Crazy Love, was on rotation at last year's Whitby goth weekender alongside Bauhaus and the Cure and it was used in a rather depressing documentary about the anniversary of the miners' strike. There's no seismic shift in mood on Parisian Marc Nguyen Tan's second album, though it does have its more emotive, even upbeat moments and it never becomes quite as tortured as Joy Division, one of his primary influences.
