After the pop embellishments of Free All Angels - Ash's last album proper - singer Tim Wheeler has granted the rest of the band permission to rock again. With one eye possibly on US success, they've enlisted Foo Fighters producer Nick Raskulinecz to produce a straight-ahead rock album that already sounds like a festival set list in waiting. Clones is the heaviest sound Ash have mustered and its Rage Against the Machine-inspired instrumental break is truly thrilling.
