Practice Pad with Dual Playing Surfaces

The Evans 12-inch RealFeel 2-sided practice pad promises a low-noise and responsive practice solution. This pad features a large playing surface for comfort and accurate performance translation from the trap kit to the competition field. It also fits inside most standard snare stands for seated and standing performance convenience. If you want a realistic playing feel, one side of the Evans 12-inch RealFeel features a quiet natural gum playing surface, which responds much the way a drumhead does. The other side is made out of harder recycled rubber for added bounce, output, and articulation. Both for solo and ensemble practice sessions, you'll get a real workout with the Evans 12-inch RealFeel 2-sided practice pad from Sweetwater.

Evans RealFeel 2-sided Practice Pad Features:

  • 12-inch practice pad
  • 1 side with natural gum for realistic rebound and low output
  • 1 side features harder recycled rubber for greater output and articulation
  • Fits inside most standard snare baskets

Assuming there all the same!

I've had the opportunity to play on lots of diffrent practice pads over the years from friends and other drummers and I know there not gonna be exactly like a real snare feel or Tom and the pads were not even close, some were way to soft so I found myself hitting harder to get a descent bounce and to hear it it was ok for slower speed exercises but if I tried to do triplets I was difficult to get enough bounce at high speeds, the pad surface was not consistent or some were so bouncy it was to much so to do single notes I had to have a death grip on the stick to keep it under control.
So I just never bought one, I bought one from sweetwater and this Evans reel feel has been a game changer for me.
It's as close as you can get to a real snare or Tom. 99% on the hard side and around 97% on the paded side,
I can beat on it anytime without bothering anyone in the house or sleeping
There's been a noticeable difference in my control and speed, ghost notes, fills, holding down that pocket, it helped ne relax and gave me some head space and turned my fills from sub par to having some chops from hell. Evans practice pad gets a 11 out of 10.
I got to thank the people at
SWEETWATER that have took the buying of gear which is overwhelming and time consuming , and so much to choose from,
They made is so simple on what guitar and Amp asked me questions and made it easy and took the guess work out, you want to be treated like your the most important musician or customer, SWEETWATER IS THE PLACE TO PURCHASE ALL THINGS MUSIC AND MORE.
The LTD guitar is incredible with this evertune and ORANGE SUPER CRUSH 100 the Evans practice pad all of it has upgraded my skillset..
Getting ready to buy a new drumset from them next...I won't shop anywhere else..
Thanks you SWEETWATER FOR GOING THAT EXTRA MILE.

Best Drum Pad(s) I’ve Ever Owned

I've had quite a number of practice pads from the awful "tunable" Remo pad to the Movement Drum Co. (RIP) pad, and I've heard my fair share of complaints about the RealFeel, people saying it just doesn't feel real. But those folks have always been part of the *marching* crowd, the type that are used to drums being cranked into the stratosphere, so suffice to say: this is meant to feel like a drum *set* drum, which I fully believe it does. I was lucky enough to have gotten the red Barney Beats edition of the RealFeel, but I also have the Apprentice pad, that I dyed green, (still feels just the same!) and I absolutely adore these pads.

Awesome!

Couldn't ask for a better way to practice or warm up!
Music background: Love playing the drums! I've been a vocalist and a couple bands.

Works as intended, but noisy.

This pad does the job I bought it to do, but it's significantly louder than the 6 inch version I also have. It must just be from more surface area it allows for vibration to resonate through it. It does the job, but don't expect it to be as quiet if you have experience with the smaller one. I had to knock off a star from the rating and gave it 4, because it is loud enough to be a bit more of a nuisance when I use it in presence of other people in the house.
Music background: I’ve done it all, for 25 years.

Best pad out there!

This is a good upgrade from my 6" RealFeel pad. They are virtually the same, except for the underside of the pad, which is good for marching players. If you are considering this pad, I 100% recommend it.
