Everything You've Ever Wanted in a Volume Pedal?

The Ernie Ball MVP volume pedal is a powerful tool to put in your guitar's signal chain. Whether you put the MVP in front of your amplifier or in its effects loop, it gives you smooth volume control with no high-frequency loss at any volume. Even better, the minimum volume control lets you set the heel position from 0%-50% volume, and you can actually set the toe position to boost up to 20dB to hit your amplifier or pedals harder. Factor in the separate tuner output, and you may find that the Ernie Ball MVP is your new go-to volume pedal.

Ernie Ball MVP Volume Pedal Features at a Glance:
  • Rugged volume pedal with flexible setting options
  • Heel position can be set anywhere from 0% volume to 50% for setting rhythm levels
  • Toe position can be 100% volume, or up to 20dB gain boost to pump up your tone
  • Separate tuner output for silent tuning anytime
  • No high-frequency loss at any volume level

True volume in and out

This pedal is a tank! Breaking this down from top to bottom. The grip surface of the pedal is second to none. All metal frame boasts a sturdy fulcrum that has the perfect feel when transition from heel to toe. It is smooth, and the volume is true to increments. The minimum volume is such a bonus for setting your in song volume with your group and step the toe forward for your solo in and slide right back into the mix. I cannot say enough great things about this pedal.

Small con: well, it's a volume pedal so any trails or sound effects you had set on your modeler will be affected. I'm now working to use the pedal min-max volume and volume pot on my guitar. Now I control everything!

Mounting to your rig.

There is a battery compartment that protrudes from the bottom by about 1/16" so if you plan on permanently mounting as I did, you'll need to remove that to make a solid. I used painters tape to cover the underside after removing the four rubber feet. I then poked holes in the tape where the screws were and transposed that tape to my pedal board. I was then able to measure the screws and the 1/2 Burch wood top. Any hardware store will have the appropriate screws to them mount your pedal from the underside. Now permanently mounted it doesn't move. If that's not your thing you can always leave it like it is and use hook and loop fastener.

The number 1 must have peadal

I have been playing guitar for a long time and can not believe I never had a VP !!! It is for me a game changer,it gives me the ability to control the gain at any time for a completely new experience using a tube amp. I can not say how it works with SS amps I don't use them to digital for me and I would have to say it depends on how you would use it. for me it is must have.

Okay, this is the pedal you may not know that you need…

I have a cheap Sonicake pedal that I have never really liked and after trying it on my Fender GTX100 amp, with foot switch set up, it really sucked tone badly even I backed off the volume even a little bit. With this pedal, you can add a smidge of extra gain and adjust the volume so you can dial in the volume response without the loss of tone. With the ability to dial in a little extra volume and gain, this thing works great! The GTX series is a different animal as the stomp box is not inline with the guitar. Evidently, you can buy a Fender pedal and use it inline with Fender footswitch but I could not get the Ernie Ball MVP to work that way. I use it between the guitar and amp inputs. I think the Fender pedal would be the way to go if I was to use this exclusively with my Fender amp but the 9v battery allows me to use it with my Spark with messing with a power cord. Overall, I'm thrilled with this pedal for a variety of reasons and uses.

Great Customer Service

Anyone can purchase the same music equipment from a number of companies around the world but I guarantee the service and attention to customers needs will be different. This is where Sweetwater shines and it is my experience that the level of this service cannot be matched and is unparalleled. My hat's off to the CEO of this company that puts customer service as their top priority. If it wasn't for Camdon Uhazy and his attention to customer satisfaction, I would searching elsewhere. In fact, if all of your staff is as good as Camdon, you would not have any competition.
