My favorite pedal

This is a fantastic pedal. I use it at the end of the pedal board to not only boost the low end in my bass, but at times it is used to attenuate the signal. It is especially useful after the high gain dirt, so that I can get the full on sound without damaging my hearing. I intend to pick up another one in a different color so that I can have the attenuation after the dirt and the boost/Eq at the end.

Top Notch Pedal

I purchased the Earthquaker Tone Job because I required a knob EQ with a level control rather than sliders run at unity gain to EQ my Mooer Baby Bomb 30.

I have a separate boost pedal for equalizing my single coil guitars so since the Tone Job has a level control it allows me to use it as a straight up EQ.

Since I'm using it at unity gain it's not necessary to run it at 18V. I have more than enough headroom at 9V.

It's bigger than I expected but that's because this particular pedal board is populated with mini pedals. And even though many of those smaller "mini" pedals (distortions, choruses, phasers etc...) sound really good, I believe that certain effects (such as equalization) require more robust real estate where the circuit board is concerned.

Earthquaker Devices definitely deliver the goods. This product is worth every penny!

Music background: I played the L.A. (Hollywood) Club Circuit with Lip Service (the most popular band you've never heard of (because I didn't want to become a Satanic Sodomite for my record deal).

Exactly What I Wanted

I had a Free The Tone 10 Band EQ unit with a boost before this.
I loved it at first, but over time was a little frustrated and disappointed with tweaking the EQ much and it bringing out a lot of hiss in my rig.

I've been simplifying my board and making that better, and I loved the looks of the simplicity of this as a replacement for something in my FX loop to just shape tone and boost.
And when I read another review saying putting it on a 18V power supply really helps keep things quiet, I did that first.
And it's very impressive compared to the Free The Tone unit for sure.
It will still a little, but it takes a lot more drastic dialing away from the flat 12 position to start causing it in comparison.
Only the treble seems a little more sensitive, but that's pretty unavoidable.
The low a bit better, and the mids you can sweep as much as you want.

I like to turn the bass just past 2 O'clock and treble up a little to almost 1 O'clock just to punch out the tone, and then I have a one dial pedal basically.
I use the mids to punch or sweep if I want to.
And it's an always on low boost for me, around 10 O'clock.

The bass does wonders for the bottom end of the tone.
And the overall sound it gives to my dirt pedals on low gain is kind of mind blowing.
Just a touch of glassier, tubier, and more chimey sound is how I would best describe it.

Simple, yet 100% impressive.
Love this pedal.
Haven't even tried it on 9V yet, but I will compare.
Luckily I have one 12V output under my board and no other pedals for it though.

Surprisingly useful EQ

I actually really like this pedal. I use it at 18v and I think it's a great EQ. It's responsive, effective, and sounds great despite it's simplicity. I loved my RC Booster, but I wanted something that had the same EQ properties, but more headroom and this is it. I have kept this at the beginning of my board since I bought it, and it makes everything sound exactly how I want it to. Not much to it, but nothing to be unhappy about. Simple, useful EQ with the effectiveness of a multi band EQ, with way less knobs. Just what I wanted.

Great boost!

Highly recommended. Been through a lot of boosts. This is my favorite. It's great before and after overdrive. I currently use before an lpd sixty 8 drive to increase the gain. I really like to be able to adjust the eq when boosting so it doesn't also boost too much bass and I like to more so boost the treble and mids. I had the last version as well which was also great but sold because the foot switch was too loud. I was worried that this new version with silent switching wouldn't sound as good but I think it might sound better which isn't always the case with new versions. If your on the fence but it and try it and I don't think you will be disappointed.
