In 2012, approaching the 40th anniversary of their debut as a duo, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham considered re-releasing the long-vaulted record. In a Q&A with Rolling Stone, conducted separately with each musician, Buckingham and Nicks explained their different plans for the self-titled album. Opinion: Fairly Good
This is an album that supposedly changed the course of music history. Had Mick Fleetwood not encountered it being played on a tour of LA studios in late 1974 scouting out his next possible recording venue, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham would never have joined forces with Fleetwood Mac. A world without Rumours? Inconceivable. So this was the golden ticket - its music can never be separated from the events that followed.
