75 Dollar Bill—Wood/Metal/Plastic/Pattern/Rhythm/Rock (Thin Wrist)Wood/Metal/Plastic/Pattern/Rhythm/Rock thickens the 75 Dollar Bill plot in more ways than one. There’s that six-layer sandwich of an album title, which is a list of essential components that have not necessarily been ranked in order of importance. Also this LP, their fifth album-length release (albeit only the second to make it to vinyl) and first to use the resources of proper recording studios, establishes a stronger link between 75 Dollar Bill and percussionist Rick Brown’s earlier projects.Typically 75 Dollar Bill’s rhythms have been less intricate than the patterns he favored in groups like Fish & Roses, Les Batteries, and V-Effect.
